4.22「Salud!!」Vol.30 プレイリスト

前回に引き続き、ゲストDJの一人として呼んでいただきました！ありがとうございます。

 

今回はとても良い時間帯に４０分ももらえたので、次に出演するバンドTropicosがSkaやCalypsoを得意とすると聞いていたこともあり、あまり深く考えずに好きなSkaやRoots Reggaeを連打しました。

ライヴ・ハウスでしかありえない音量で鳴らすと、常に低音が割れていたようにもブースからは聴こえましたが、非常に楽しい時間でした。

4.21「music bar 45」DJプレイリスト

今回も本当にありがとうございました。遅れましたが曲目リストを残しておきます。

メロディの美しい曲、好きな声、「歌心」とでもいうものが根底のテーマになってきましたが、今回も打ち合わせなしで一曲ずつ交互にかけ合う方式でお送りしました。

さらに恒例のアディショナル・タイムもあり、23時もだいぶ回って最後の方は膝に来ていましたが、初めての金曜夜、ノリの良いお客さんばかりで思っていたよりずっとやりやすかったです。

小山先輩はいつものように全てアナログ盤。隣で回している僕が一番勉強になっています。もっとも、勉強しに来ているのは僕だけかもしれませんが…。

最後にはなりますが、来ていただいた方々、見えないところで支えてくれる人たち、自由にやらせてくれる高橋店主と小山さんに感謝します。

3.28「music bar 45」DJプレイリスト

誰も待ってはいないと思いますが、お待たせしました！大変遅くなりましたが今回の曲目リストを記録しておきます。

「メロディの美しい曲」という幅広い解釈が可能なテーマでしたが、相変わらず我々はジャンルも軽々と飛び越え、勝手気ままにかけていきました。

今回も一曲ずつ交互にかけ合う方式。2人合わせ全56曲でした。23時も回りアディショナル・タイムも長めにありましたが、意外にいつもより少なめの曲数でした。

僕はCDやiTunesで買ったものも含みますが、小山さんはいつものように全てアナログ盤で。今さらながら、これだけのアルバムをレコードのみで揃えるのは本当にすごいことだと隣で見てて思います。

当初2/28に予定してもらっていましたが、我々の師でもあるピーター・バラカンさんのDJと日時が重なってしまい、急遽ずらしてもらい月初の開催となりました。
広い意味での「ヴォーカル特集」第二弾でしたが、今回もジャンルは横断して自由気ままにかけていきました。

「チュバ・チュバ・マイ・ベイベー」という繰り返しが耳に残る。

他にもかけたい曲ある二人組なれど、まずはこれで。ホーンも印象的。

こんな作品も出していたとは。70年代らしい演奏。

90年代にもこんなに優れた録音を残していたとは知らなかったです。

Kenny Altmanが書く曲が好きで、「誠実であれ 偽りなく」という歌詞が今の時代にも刺さる。

二度あることは三度ある。三たび登場。評価が分かれるこの作品も、アナログで鳴らすとギターの音が太いこと！

(メキシコとの)国境を越えるこの歌の内容も、今はより一層重みが増しているような気がします。

Ry Cooderがプロデュースとギターを手掛ける三人娘。
M. The Haden Triplets "Memories of Mother & Dad"『The Haden Triplets』(2014)

やはり女性ヴォーカル繋がりで。"Never Turn Back"としても知られるスピリチュアル(霊歌)。
Y. The Pentangle "No More My Lord"『Sweet Child』(1968)

ジングルの導入から。一人ヴォーカルの多重録音でアルバム丸ごとカヴァーした驚きの意欲作。
M. Petra Haden "I Can See for Miles"『Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out』(2005)

何となくロックの繋がりで。"Sweet Thing"もかけたかったが針が飛ぶので、こちらで。

夫婦名義でのアルバムから。

シンセサイザーの音が聴こえたので、思いつきで。この曲もジョージ・オーウェル『1984年』に影響を受けて作ったとか。

「己の歌を歌え」と呼びかける、ルーツロック調の渋いソングライター。Yep Rocレーベルから。

古き良きジャズ・ヴォーカル風の編曲。

グレイトフル・デッドを様々な人がカヴァーした企画作より。Elvis Costello "Ship of Fools"もかけたかった。

ギター師弟の共演作で、どちらも楽しそうな雰囲気が伝わってくる。

ニュー・オーリンズの歌い手がカントリー寄りの曲を取り上げている作品。音楽仲間に教えてもらいました。

全く知らなかったが、やはりYep Rocレーベルからのブルーズ寄りの人。敢えて60年代ぽい音作り。

自作自演型の歌い手で繋ぐ。前向きな姿勢の歌詞。
Y. Tracy Chapman "Talkin' Bout a Revolution"『Tracy Chapman』(1988)

Stevie NicksがFleetwood Mac以前に組んでいたユニット、とのこと。可愛いらしい歌声。
M. Buckingham Nicks "Crying in the Night"『Buckingham Nicks』(1973)

出たばかりの2作目から、今のところ一番胸に響く曲を。

発売当時に聴いたことを思い出す、刺激的な作品。最近発売されたばかりのアナログ盤から。
M. Senti Toy "How Many Stories Do You Read on My Face"『How Many Stories Do You Read on My Face』(2006)

ここ最近の発見の一つ。Dick Connetteという作曲家が、古いアメリカの音楽を再構築する試み。ヴォーカルのSonya Cohenは残念ながら亡くなってしまったようです…。

UKロックのよりポップなところを。Colin Mouldingの書く曲もまた良いとのことで意見が一致。

再びソウル寄りに。Curtis Mayfieldプロデュース曲。

もう一人アイルランドの女性を。しっとり聴かせてくれる声。

2017年最初のDJでした。
今回も小山さんと打ち合わせなしで1曲ずつ交互にかける方式で進めていきました。我々の場合、DJといっても静かめで落ち着いた音楽を1曲ごとに完奏させていく地味なものなので、来ていただいた方々がどこまで楽しめているか気になるところではあります。
昨夜は特に、歌の表現力や楽曲(特にメロディ)の良さに着目したつもりで選んでみました。
結果的にある意味ではいつも通りの内容で、かつ尽きることのないテーマでもあり、いずれまた続編を開催してもいいかなと思います。
